  • The Belgian motorway 605 , also on French. Autoroute 605 or Dutch Autosnelweg 605 called, is a planned road east of Liège ( French : Liège ; nld .: Luik ). Once completed, it would be the Liège bypass to the east and complete the Liège ring road.

The construction was originally planned until 2012. Due to regular protests and great resistance from the local residents affected, as well as high costs, it was decided in mid-2009 to postpone the project indefinitely.

    history

The planning of the A605 as a bypass to the east of Liège began in the 1960s. The construction promised to relieve the Cherlatte motorway junction between the A3 and the A25 . Due to great resistance and the high costs of around 400 million euros , the implementation was put on hold until the mid-2000s. Planning for the A605 was only resumed in 2004. After extensive changes and a new design in 2005/2006, the building permit was granted in 2007-2009. On June 18, 2009, Minister Michel Daerden announced that the project would be abandoned for political and financial reasons. The Walloon government decided in 2009 that the realization of the connection should be delayed but not finally abandoned.
