Avoca is a city (with the status " City ") in Pottawattamie County in the US -amerikanischen State Iowa . In 2010 Avoca had 1,506 inhabitants, the number of which did not change until 2014.
Avoca is part of both sides of the Missouri in the states of Iowa and Nebraska situated metropolitan Omaha -Council Bluffs.

Interstate Highway 80 runs through the north of the urban area of Avoca in an east-west direction and is the shortest connection from Des Moines to Omaha here. history
In 1869, the place Avoca was founded with the construction of a railway line of the then Rock Island Railroad from Des Moines to Council Bluffs. The name is derived from the Irish fairy tale Vale of Avoca . Avoca was incorporated as an independent municipality in 1874.
