Aymen Abdennour ( Arabic أيمن عبد النور, DMG Aiman ​​ʿAbd an-Nūr ; * August 6, 1989 in Sousse ) is a Tunisian football player .

Career

society

Abdennour played in the youth teams of Étoile Sportive du Sahel before the 2008/09 season . In summer 2008 he was accepted into the professional squad of the popular Tunisian club. He quickly found his way into the team and fought for a place in the starting lineup. Abdennour is considered an attacking defender and can be used as a left full-back, center-back and left midfielder. In his first year as a professional, the young player and his team finished third in the Tunisian championship. His good performances did not go unnoticed by European teams and in the summer of 2009 he was said to have had some contacts in Europe. In December 2009 the German Bundesliga club Werder Bremen tested Abdennour in a trial session.

On January 14, 2010 he was awarded to Werder Bremen until the end of the 2009/10 season . There he was used as a left-back, but came after mixed performance in the criticism of fans and the media. Werder did not take the agreed purchase option, so Abdennour returned to Étoile du Sahel.

In the summer of 2011 he moved to the French Ligue 1 for Toulouse FC . There he was used as a central defender, was an immediate regular and an important player in the team, which also made clubs from England and Russia aware of him. Toulouse coach Alain Casanova predicted a great future for Abdennour.

On January 31, 2014 Abdennour initially moved to AS Monaco on loan until the end of the 2013/14 season , which then signed him. In Monaco, where he took on the role of defense chief, he was also able to convince. With a strong performance, he made a significant contribution to Monaco's victory over Arsenal in the first leg of the Champions League 2014/15 , and thus to reaching the quarter-finals.

The following season Abdennour moved to the Spanish club Valencia CF for a transfer fee of 21.8 million euros. In August 2017, Abdennour was loaned to Olympique Marseille for a year . The French also have the option to extend the loan for another year.

For the 2019/20 season he moved to Turkey to the first division club Kayserispor .

National team

Due to his good debut in the Tunisian league, Abdennour received an early invitation from national coach Faouzi Benzarti to the Tunisian national team . He previously played in the country's U-20 team , of which he was the captain.
