Hakan Arıkan (born August 17, 1982 in Karamürsel ) is a Turkish football player .

Career

Club career

Arıkan began his career at Petkimspor . In 2001 he came to the youth team of Kocaelispor , for which he made his debut in the first team in 2002. For four years he was in goal in 110 league games and then moved to the capital city club Ankaraspor . He was a permanent fixture in the team for two seasons and was signed by Beşiktaş Istanbul after a strong 2006/2007 season. During the 2010/11 season Arıkan was under criticism and was only the third goalkeeper at Beşiktaş. He then moved to the 2011/12 season on a free transfer to newly promoted Mersin İdman Yurdu . Here he won a regular place at the beginning of the season and managed to return to the Turkish national soccer team. Towards the middle of the season he lost his regular place and was only used occasionally until the end of the season.

After his contract expired at the end of the season, he left Mersin İY and agreed for the next two seasons with the first division club Antalyaspor .

For the 2014/15 season he moved to the second division club Kayserispor . For the second half of this season he was loaned to Trabzonspor . At Trabzonspor he was able to build on his heyday. After he could not agree to a contract extension with this club, he was associated with Galatasaray Istanbul for a while . Since this change had not come about either, Arıkan returned to Kayserispor. This club had in the meantime achieved promotion to the Süper Lig.

In January 2015 he moved to his former club Ankaraspor, which has since been renamed Osmanlıspor FK . In the summer of 2018 he moved on to the city ravial and second division club Gençlerbirliği Ankara .

National team career

Arıkan made his debut for the Turkish national team on June 5, 2007 at the Westfalenstadion in Dortmund against Brazil . In the national dress he shares the position in goal with Volkan Demirel from Fenerbahçe .
