The citizenship election in Bremen in 1959 was the fifth election for citizenship in the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen . It took place on October 11, 1959 .

Result

The turnout was 79.2 percent. The SPD was able to defend its previous absolute majority of the seats. The CDU left the governing coalition, the SPD and FDP continued to rule in Senate Kaisen VI .
