State election in Bremen in 1967
The state election in Bremen in 1967 was the seventh election for citizenship in the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen . It took place on October 1, 1967 .
prehistory
For twenty years - from 1945 to 1965 - Wilhelm Kaisen (1887–1979) shaped the politics of Bremen as President of the Senate of the State of Bremen. He resigned in July 1965 (he had headed seven Senates ); his successor was Willy Dehnkamp (1903–1985; see also Senate Dehnkamp ). Dehnkamp was also the SPD's top candidate in the 1967 election.
Result
The turnout was 77.0 percent.
The SPD lost an absolute majority of the seats. She continued to rule with the FDP , which had been a member of the Senate since 1955, even during the absolute majority of the SPD. Dehnkamp was replaced by Hans Koschnick in Senate Koschnick I , who held this post until 1985.
The National Democratic Party of Germany , which was already represented in the citizenship through the transfer of three former members of the German party , moved into the citizenship (for the only time so far). On the other side of the political spectrum, DFU achieved its best result at state level with 4.2%.
