Bahar (rapper)

Bahar Henschel (born June 3, 1984 in Iran ) is a German rapper of Iranian origin.

Life

Bahar was born in Iran . However, due to the ongoing Gulf War , her family fled to Germany. They spent a few months in asylum seekers ' accommodation before moving to Berlin-Kreuzberg , where Bahar mainly grew up. Bahar finished school in 2000 with a secondary school leaving certificate . She then began training as a kindergarten teacher , which she successfully completed in 2004.

In the same year Bahar began rapping. She met rappers Kid Kobra and Taichi through contact with her producer Yanek . In collaboration with Kobra, the song Wie ein Feuer was created , which was published shortly afterwards on his mixtape Germany is sick . Because of this collaboration, Kobras label became interested in Bahar 5 to 12 records . With Kid Kobra she recorded some songs for a planned collaboration album. This never appeared, however, as Bahar signed a contract with Bushido's label ersguterjunge shortly afterwards . During this time she had three features on Chakuza's mixtape Search & Destroy , D-Bo's album Seelenblut and on Saad's debut album Life is Saad . She left the label a year later without having released a sound carrier about ersguterjunge. The release of her debut album Birthday burst with it. As a reason for saying goodbye, she named a lack of prospects. As a result, she was featured on some publications by Taichi, MOK , Kid Kobra and Sinan.

In September 2008 Bahar attracted attention through the Save Bahar campaign . In this, the rapper asked for donations to publish her finished album. In this context, she published some video messages. This action caused some criticism within the rap scene. The two German Dream rappers Farid Bang and Summer Cem mentioned the appeal negatively.

On April 1, 2010, she released her debut album Borderline on the Carlos Entertainment label . Emine Bahar is the only guest singer on the album. Shortly before that, the digital single Hey , for which a music video was shot, was released.

In 2019 Bahar distinguished herself as the author of the song Maybe ( Gestört aber GeiL feat. Adel Tawil ). The piece was released as a single on February 2, 2019 and placed 38th in the official German single charts .
