The Bajuwarentour is a 126-kilometer Austrian-German cycle path in the form of a circular route that leads through the Rupertigau in Upper Bavaria , the Upper Innviertel in Upper Austria and the Flachgau in the state of Salzburg . The name of the touristic theme cycle path is based on the finds of old Bavarian settlements in the places Waging and Mattsee as well as on other smaller finds in places along the route.

Route

The Bavarian town of Waging am See and the Salzburg town of Mattsee are assumed to be the starting points for the circuit.

In addition to this main route, there are some alternative routes and additional routes:

  • Taching - Fridolfing - Kirchanschöring - Petting (38 km)
  • Tittmoning - Fridolfing (10 km); from there to taching or petting
  • Circumnavigation of the Abtsdorfer See near Laufen (6 km)
  • Alternative between Oberndorf and Nußdorf (15 km)
  • from the alternative Oberndorf – Nußdorf to Obertrum (15 km)
  • Abbreviation of the main route from Nussdorf to Seeham (9 km)
  • Circumnavigation of the Höllerersee between Franking and Ostermiething (7 km)

nature

The cycle path leads through the slightly hilly foothills of the Alps and runs mainly on paved side roads and paved gravel paths. It also shows only insignificant increases and is therefore advertised as "family-friendly". The maximum difference in altitude is about 170 meters.
