Barbara Lass
Barbara Lass (born June 1, 1940 in Patrowo near Gostynin ; † March 6, 1995 in Baldham , Bavaria ; bourgeois Barbara Kwiatkowska ) was a Polish film actress who shot in Poland , France , Italy and Germany .
Life
She attended ballet school in Warsaw and won a casting at the age of 17. She then got the title role in the crime film Eva wants to sleep . After this initial success, she took up several follow-up offers and went to Paris in 1960, where she was given the stage name “Barbara Lass”. She played leading roles a. a. In 1961 in René Cléments Halt mal die Bombe, darling at the side of Alain Delon and in 1970 alongside Curd Jürgens in Der Pfarrer von St. Pauli , otherwise she often appeared in supporting roles , but sometimes under very important directors such as Margarethe von Trotta , Rainer Werner Fassbinder , Andrzej Munk , Roman Polański and Peter Lilienthal .
She was the first wife of the director Roman Polański (1959 to 1962) and the third wife of Karlheinz Böhm , whose daughter Katharina Böhm (* 1964) is also an actress . This marriage was divorced again in 1980. From 1980 until her death she was married to Leszek Żądło . The Polish woman supported the Solidarność trade union movement , partly underground.
Barbara Lass died on March 6, 1995 of a cerebral haemorrhage . Her grave is in the Rakowicki Cemetery in Krakow ( Poland ).
