Barmer ( Hindi : बाड़मेर, Bāṛmer ) is a district in the western Indian state of Rajasthan . It is located in West Rajasthan in the Thar Desert and borders Pakistan . The area is 28,387 km², the population is 1,964,835 (2001). The administrative seat is the city ​​of the same name .

Climate and nature
