Bekir İrtegün (born April 20, 1984 in Elazığ , Turkey ) is a Turkish football player .

Career

society

At the end of October 2001, Bekir İrtegün began his professional career at Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyespor . He stayed there for almost three months and then moved to local rivals Gaziantepspor . For the 2002/03 season Bekir İrtegün went back on loan to his first professional station at Gaziantep BB. After the loan, he played non-stop for Gaziantepspor. After the 2003/04 season , he extended his contract with the Red-Blacks for another five years.

For the 2009/10 season İrtegün moved to the traditional club Fenerbahçe Istanbul on a free transfer . He signed a four-year contract with the yellow-dark blue . Bekir İrtegün celebrated his goal debut for Fenerbahçe on matchday 31, April 25, 2010 against Kasımpaşa Istanbul . He scored the 1-0 victory in the 76th minute and helped his team to lead the table. Despite the previous championship lead, Bekir İrtegün narrowly missed the Turkish championship ( 2010 ) with his team on the last matchday .

With the end of the contract in the summer of 2015, Fenerbahçe did not receive a contract extension and then left this club after six years of membership.

For the 2015/16 season, he was hired by league and city rivals Istanbul Başakşehir and signed a three-year contract with the option for another year. İrtegün's contract, which was still valid until 2018, was surprisingly terminated prematurely in July 2017 by mutual agreement with the club's management. Before that, İrtegün was unable to leave the country for the pre-season camp taking place in Slovenia because his passport had been canceled. It later emerged that İrtegün's passport had been canceled on suspicion of membership in the Fethullah terrorist organization , and that he had been refused entry at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport and was briefly arrested. He was then released after questioning.

National team

İrtegün went through the Turkish youth national teams of U-15, U-16, U-19, U-20 and U-21. Won the silver medal with the Turkey-Mediterranean selection at the 2005 Mediterranean Games in Almería , Spain .

İrtegün was twice in the squad of Turkey in 2007 and 2009 by national coach Fatih Terim . However, he sat on the bench in these nominations and did not make his international A debut. Terim's successor Guus Hiddink completely renounced İrtegün's appointment. Only with national coach Abdullah Avcı was İrtegün nominated again for the national team and made his international debut on May 26, 2012 in a friendly against the Finnish national team . Under Avcı, İrtegün then established himself in the A selection as a regular player and continued to play in eight games.
