Belgian Football Cup 2010/11

The Belgian Football Cup 2010/11 began on July 24, 2010 with the first preliminary round matches and ended on May 21, 2011 with the final in Brussels . A total of 294 teams took part. In the first two rounds only clubs from divisions below the 3rd division played. In the third round the clubs of the 3rd division were added, in the fourth round those of the 2nd division . The clubs of the first division started in the 6th round. Up to the round of 16, all matches were played in just one game. If it was a draw after 90 minutes, extra time followed and possibly a penalty shoot-out. There was a second leg in the quarter and semi-finals. If both teams scored the same number of goals after the second leg, the away goals rule applied , with the same number of away goals an extra time and, if necessary, a penalty shoot-out followed. The final took place in the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels. Standard Liège won the Belgian Cup for the sixth time with a 2-0 win against KVC Westerlo .
