Benjamin Kevin Siegrist (born January 31, 1992 in Therwil ) is a Swiss football goalkeeper . The 1.96 meter tall goalkeeper is under contract with Scottish first division club Dundee United .

Career

On November 15, 2009, Siegrist won the World Cup in Nigeria with the Swiss U-17 national team and received the Golden Glove for the tournament's best goalkeeper. The achievements of the U-17s and of Siegrist in particular during this World Cup were extensively recognized in the national and international press. The FIFA Technical Study Group described Siegrist in its report as a “responsive goalkeeper with good positional play, strong both on the line and with flanks”.

In May 2011 he was nominated by U-21 national coach Pierluigi Tami for the provisional squad of the Swiss U-21s for the U-21 European Football Championship 2011 . In the end, Siegrist also made it into the final squad. In the tournament itself Siegrist was only a substitute goalkeeper. The Swiss team reached the final. At the Olympic Games in London , Siegrist was part of the Swiss squad.
