Bermbach is the largest district in the municipality of Waldems in the Rheingau-Taunus district in southern Hesse .
geography
The place is located in a valley in the eastern Hintertaunus of the Rhine-Taunus Nature Park . The federal highway 275 runs north of the village and the federal highway 3011 to the east .
history
In a deed of donation to the Lorch monastery from the year 772 the place is mentioned for the first time under the place name Barenbach . The place was certainly already settled before, as the nearby Limes and the Alteburg castle testify. The Lords of Brembach lived in the village from 1276 to 1570. At the beginning of the 19th century the Schinderhannes was in this area.
On August 1, 1972, the previously independent community of Bermbach was merged with five other places to form the new community of Waldems.
