Bernhard Afinger

Bernhard Afinger (born May 6, 1813 in Nuremberg , † December 25, 1882 in Berlin ) was a German sculptor of the 19th century .
Life
After training as a plumber and subsequent wandering as a journeyman, Bernhard Afinger met the sculptor Christian Daniel Rauch on the occasion of the Dürer Festival in 1840, who persuaded him to come to Berlin as his student. There he opened his own workshop in 1846. In 1873 there was a trip to Italy. In 1874 Bernhard Afinger became a member of the Senate of the Berlin Academy of Arts and a professor .
