Bernhard Clairon d'Haussonville

Bernhard Joseph Ernst Count Clairon d'Haussonville (born October 3, 1795 in Ober Gläsersdorf ; † November 30, 1857 in Breslau ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

Bernhard came from the Silesian noble family Clairon d'Haussonville . His parents were the heir to Ober Gläsersdorf bei Lüben , Karl Graf Clairon d'Haussonville and his wife Johanne Friederike Louise, née von Doering († 1841).

Military career

Clairon initially studied at the University of Wroclaw . On February 20, 1813, he joined the 7th Silesian Landwehr Cavalry Regiment of the Prussian Army as a volunteer hunter and was promoted to Second Lieutenant on June 6, 1813 . During the Wars of Liberation Clairon took part in the battles near Dresden , Kulm , Leipzig , the siege of Erfurt and the battles near Luxemburg , Thionville , Metz , Nancy and Longwy .

On May 28, 1816, he was aggregated to the 12th Hussar Regiment and assigned to January 14, 1817. There he was promoted to Prime Lieutenant on June 22, 1818 and Rittmeister on June 18, 1824 . On March 19, 1839 he was commanded to Turkey , but on March 30, 1840 he was again a major in the 12th Hussar Regiment. From March 22, 1843 Clairon was employed as a regular staff officer in the 5th Hussar Regiment and was commissioned on March 9, 1848 with the management of the 1st Hussar Regiment (called 1st Leib-Hussar Regiment) . On May 7th he was appointed regimental commander. His promotion to lieutenant colonel took place on November 19, 1849 and that to colonel on April 19, 1851. The same year on August 6, he received the Order of the Red Eagle III. Class with a bow. On March 22, 1853, Clairon was placed in command of the 5th Cavalry Brigade and on April 7, à la suite, of the 1st Hussar Regiment. He was promoted on July 13, 1854 Major General and received on January 5, the Red Eagle II. Class with oak leaves before his Clairon on 22 October 1856 farewell with pension received.

family

Clairon married her first marriage in 1824 in Sangerhausen with the merchant's daughter Sophie Adelheid Henriette Kayser (1801-1825) and her second marriage in Gotha in 1832 with Ida von Wangenheim (1807-1838). The second marriage resulted in two sons.
