The Beutenbach is a six-kilometer long creek on the north eaves of the eastern Swabian Alb in eastern Baden-Württemberg , which flows into the Rems from the left near Lorch . Its middle and lower course is in the Beutental .

geography

course

The Beutenbach rises at about 545  m above sea level. NN on the flat central western slope of the Hohenstaufen and immediately digs a wooded blade into the again steeper lower slope foot. From here on, it leaves the Eichrain flatter in the corridor, where it crosses the route of the former Hohenstaufenbahn and then takes a shorter right-hand tributary from the right in the small plateau between Wäschenbeuren in the west and Maitis in the east. This rises in a somewhat lower source location on the northern slope of the Hohenstaufen . Then the Beutenbach crosses under the county road that connects the two places and digs a blade again, in which the Tobelbach, which is again more important, soon flows from the northern Hohenstaufen slope past Maitis. The valley section from here to the mouth is called Beutental .

After the initially completely wooded blade, the widening valley floor thins out and from a left side blade on the Wäschenbeuren side, the Wäschenhofbach flows into a tiny group of buildings . Then the Beutenbach reaches the Beutenmühle, accompanied by a remnant of a side canal that feeds a small lake along the way. In front of this, a mill canal flows out of the valley of the Lindenbach , which runs slightly towards it from the left . Behind the Lindenbach estuary, the Beutenhof is also on the left bank. Even further down the valley, on a cleared slope, the Schnellhöfle stands on the left halfway up, shortly afterwards the Wolfsklingbach flows into it from the left . Then the Beutenbach crosses under the B 29 in its left floodplain and flows out on the other side of the street at less than 290  m above sea level. NN from the left into the Rems , after a run of 6.3 km and a little above the Lorcher Reichenhof.

Catchment area

The catchment area covers 9.8 square kilometers , it stretches with only a slight overweight on the left in a fairly constant width on both sides of the course. The highest point in it is at 684  m above sea level. NN in the very south on the summit of Hohenstaufen , the mouth at less than 290  m above sea level. NN .

To the east of the Beutenbach, the Lichtbach drains into the Rems ; in the southeast, south and west, Krumm and Marbach , running to the Fils , compete one after the other across the watershed . There are only insignificant tributaries to the Rems in the northwest and on both sides of the mouth in the north.

The municipalities and districts mentioned in the section on → localities share in the catchment area . The only larger town in it besides those mentioned there is Maitis , from Wäschenbeuren the smaller settlement areas Wäscherhof and Lindenbronn also drain into the Beutenbach.

Tributaries

Higher order tributaries indented below the higher-level body of water, always lined up from the source to the mouth. Raised from LUBW-FG10 / LUBW-SG10 (with background maps). Lengths to a full hundred meters, areas rounded to a tenth of a hectare, heights usually according to the contour line image, if the maps contain numerical height information, this was noted. Italic names of waters are used as proper names in one of the sources used, otherwise a descriptive name is used as a substitute, of which only the italicized parts are proper names from the data sets / the map.
