Biber is a district of the Altmannstein market in the Eichstätt district .

location

The street village is located in the Eichstätt district at about 430 m above sea level about half a kilometer south of Mendorf on the state road 2231 leading there to Oberdolling and on the eastern edge of the Köschinger Forest.

history

On the eastern edge of the village traces of a former late Celtic square hill can be seen. The place itself was in the 13./14. First mentioned in a document in the 19th century. On historical maps, Biber is referred to as the "Biber brickworks".

The place has about 30 inhabitants and belonged to the municipality of Mendorf in the Riedenburg district until the regional reform in Bavaria . On January 1, 1972, the community of Mendorf was dissolved and moved to the Altmannstein market.
