The Feller Bach is a right tributary of the Moselle in Rhineland-Palatinate , Germany . It takes its name from the Fell site . In the catchment area of the creek lies the FFH area Fellerbachtal with a size of 514 hectares. In the valley of the Feller Bach and in the side valleys there are numerous abandoned slate pits .
geography
The Feller Bach gets its name from the confluence of the Saarbach and Welgerbach below the Burgkopf , about 1.4 km northeast of Thomm and 2 km northwest of Lorscheid . The Saarbach is fed by the Farschweiler Bach and the Lorscheider Bach , whose source brooks are the Etgesbach and the Bickenbach in the Osburger Hochwald near Beuren (Hochwald) .
From the confluence of its source rivers, the Feller Bach takes an S-shaped path towards the northwest. In doing so, it first crosses the state forest of Quint in a wide curve to the left. He takes up numerous short streams from the surrounding heights. About halfway to the Moselle it reaches Fell . In Fell, below the former Feller Maximiner Castle, the Thommerbach flows , which is known as the Spitzer Bach just before the mouth .
The Feller Bach reaches Fastrau just 1 km after Fell . Then it crosses under the Fellerbachtal bridge of the A1 , a little later to 122 m above sea level. NHN to flow into the Moselle between Longuich and Riol .
Mills
The Scholersmühle and the former Lorscheidermühle, the former Spechtmühle and the monastery mill belonging to Farschweiler (former name: Gehrensmühle) are located on the Lorscheider Bach . The Herler Mühle, now an Ayurveda healing center, is located on Saarbach . In Fell there were two mills in the area of today's Maximinstraße and the Niederfeller Mühle in Mühlenstraße, near Fell-Fastrau is the Fastrauer Mühle and just before the confluence are the Rioler and Longuicher Mühle.
