history
Bieberbach was first mentioned in a document in 1225. It takes its name from the stream on which it lies.
Bieberbach has been part of the Fechheimer Kirchsprengel since the Middle Ages . The monastery Sonnenfeld had Frongüter in the village. In 1329 Count Heinrich VIII von Henneberg left part of the Bieberbach tithe to the monastery of the Cistercians in Sonnefeld . In the hereditary book of Sonnefeld monastery from 1514, the whole place was listed as the property of the monastery. After the death of Duke Albrecht in 1699, Bieberbach came to Sachsen-Hildburghausen in 1705 as part of the Sonnefeld office . In 1826 the office of Sonnefeld came back to Saxony-Coburg in accordance with the Hildburghausen partition agreement .
In 1862, Bieberbach had 180 residents who lived in 23 families. There were 15 farmers and 8 artisans.
In a referendum on November 30, 1919 agreed five Bieber Bacher citizens for the accession of the State of Coburg the Thuringian State and 24 against it. From July 1, 1920, Bieberbach also belonged to the Free State of Bavaria .
In 1962 the place got its own cemetery. In 1963 Bieberbach left the school association with Zedersdorf and joined Sonnefeld.
In the first half of 1969, in a referendum of 96 residents with voting rights, 70 decided to join the community of Sonnfeld. As a result, Bieberbach was incorporated into the community of Sonnefeld on July 1, 1969 as a district.
