Bill Nye saves the world (Original title: Bill Nye Saves the World ) is an American talk show on scientific topics. It will be moderated by Bill Nye who is supported by several well-known reporters such as Karlie Kloss . In addition, famous guests appear in several episodes. The first release of the entire first season took place in the US on April 21, 2017 on Netflix . On the same day, the series was also released in German-speaking countries on Netflix.

At the end of August 2016, Netflix announced that it would produce a talk show with Bill Nye about science and its influence on politics, society and pop culture . The aim of the show should be to look at all of the topics covered from a scientific point of view, and to address and refute myths and non-scientific claims. By October 2016, Netflix announced that in addition to Bill Nye as a presenter, five other well-known reporters would appear on the show. These are the two comedians Joanna Hausmann and Nazeem Hussain , the engineer Emily Calandrelli , the scientist Derek Muller and the model Karlie Kloss . The intro song of the show comes from rapper Tyler, the Creator .

On April 21, 2017, the first season of Bill Nye Save the World was released on Netflix. In June 2017 it was announced that the show would be extended by a second, six episode season, which started on December 29, 2017. In April 2018, a third season, also comprising six episodes, was announced, which began on May 11, 2018.

criticism

Bill Nye Saves the World received mixed reviews. Among other things, it was criticized that the show is aimed at an adult audience, but only superficially touches on the topics and sometimes seems too instructive.
