The Diocese of Dumaguete ( lat. : Dioecesis Dumaguete ) is the Philippines located Roman Catholic diocese based in Dumaguete City .
history
The Diocese of Dumaguete was on April 5, 1955 by Pope Pius XII. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Sanctissima ea verba from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Bacolod and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Cebu as a suffragan . On March 30, 1987, the Diocese of Dumaguete gave parts of its territory to the establishment of the Diocese of San Carlos .
The diocese of Dumaguete includes the provinces of Negros Oriental and Siquijor .
