The Eternal Table of the Scottish Premier League is a summarized ranking of all football matches played in the Scottish Premier League (SPL) since the first season in 1998/99 up to the last season in 2012/13 . The Scottish champion has been played in the newly founded Scottish Premiership since 2013 .

The Scottish Premier League replaced the Scottish Football League Premier Division (from 1975/76 to 1997/98) as the top division in Scotland . The games are calculated according to the three-point rule (3 points for a win and one point for a draw).

The list is led by the two outstanding teams Celtic Glasgow (44 titles in total) and Glasgow Rangers (54 titles). So far, they are the only SPL title holders with eight or seven championships. The last time any club other than the two Glasgow clubs won championships was in 1985 with Aberdeen FC . The table includes a total of 19 clubs for the 2013/14 season. In addition to the 12 teams in the SPL, there are four teams in the Scottish Football League First Division and two teams in the third-class Scottish Football League Second Division. The Eternal Table is completed by a club that was dissolved in 2008.

The Glasgow Rangers had to leave the SPL in 2012. A mountain of debt of around 166 million euros was accumulated up to the 2011/12 season . After the opening of bankruptcy proceedings, the Scottish record champions were initially deducted ten points in February 2012 and, after the end of the season , were downgraded from the SPL to the fourth-class professional league, the Third Division .

The newcomer FC Gretna had a similar experience in the 2007/08 season . The association squeezed debts to a number of over 100 creditors amounting to about four million pounds . FC Gretna received a deduction of ten points. After the season, Gretna was transferred to the Third Division. This was followed by the exit from the Scottish Football League in early June 2008. The final end came with the dissolution of the club on August 8, 2008.
