The Scottish League Two was played for the fifth time in 2017/18 as the fourth highest football division in Scotland . The league was officially played as Ladbrokes Scottish League Two . The league was one of the four leagues in the Scottish Football League after the Premiership , Championship and League One . Which was followed League Two of the regional leagues, the Highland and Lowland Football League . The season was managed by the Scottish Football Association and began on August 5, 2017. The season ended with the 36th matchday on April 28, 2018.
In the 2017/18 season, ten clubs competed against each other in a total of 36 match days. Each team played twice at home and twice against every other team. As relegation from last year's League One , FC Stenhousemuir and FC Peterhead , who failed in relegation, came to League Two .
The FC Montrose secured the championship and promotion to the third division. The FC Peterhead, Stirling Albion and FC Stenhousemuir reached the promotion relegation . The FC Cowdenbeath appeared in the relegation relegation . The top scorer with 25 goals was David Goodwillie from Clyde FC .

Participants in the relegation games are the tenth placed in this year's League Two, as well as the two champions from the Highland and Lowland Football League , the Cove Rangers and the FC Spartans . The winner of the first round plays in the second round against the League Two club for a place for the following season 2018/19 .
