The Scottish Football League Third Division was held under this name for the 14th time in 2007/08 . It was also the fourteenth edition of the Third Division as only fourth highest Scottish league . In the fourth-highest division of men's football in Scotland , 10 clubs competed against each other in a total of 36 matchdays in the 2007/08 season. Each team played four times against each other. In the event of a tie, the goal difference counted before the direct comparison.

The championship was won by FC East Fife , which secured promotion and participation in the 2008/09 Second Division season . On the ascent play-offs of taking FC Stranraer , FC Montrose and FC Arbroath part. The top scorer with 18 goals was John Baird of FC Montrose.
