Eternal table
In sport, an eternal table is a table that summarizes all results over the entire period of the existence of a league or tournament . A basic distinction is made between the so-called absolute and the relative perpetual table.
In the case of the absolute perpetual table, the table is calculated as the addition of all playing times. In the relative Eternal Table, which is rarely used, the values achieved (usually the number of points) are weighted with the total number of games - or less often the seasons - so that the "average game result" of a club is sorted here. While the absolute perpetual table therefore prefers clubs with longstanding league membership, the informative value of the relative perpetual table may be less for clubs with only a few games.
