The Roman Catholic Diocese of Lodwar ( lat. : Dioecesis Loduarinus ) is in Kenya situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Lodwar . It covers the northern central part of the former Rift Valley Province , today: Turkana County .
history
Pope Paul VI founded the Apostolic Prefecture Lodwar with the Apostolic Constitution Sacrorum Librorum on January 11, 1968 from cession of territory by the Diocese of Eldoret .
On January 30, 1978 she was raised with the Apostolic Constitution Qui volente Deo to the diocese, which was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Nairobi as a suffragan diocese. On May 21, 1990, it became part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Kisumu .
