Björn Meyer (* 1989 in Lüdenscheid ) is a German actor .

Life

Björn Meyer gained stage experience at the CVJM's amateur theater Die Bühnenmäuse in his home town of Lüdenscheid. Since the 1990s he has been on stage repeatedly in various roles under the direction of Reinhard Meyer. He was also an actor at the Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium in Lüdenscheid. At this school, he passed the general university entrance qualification in 2009.

From 2010 to 2014 he completed an acting training at the Theater Academy of the University of Music and Theater in Hamburg. Here he had his first roles in plays like A Star Without a Name or Demons . He was also seen as a guest during his training at the Hamburg Chamber Opera , the Thalia Theater , the St. Pauli Theater , Kampnagel and in the Lichthof . At the Thalia Theater Meyer u. a. in Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind and directed by Karin Neuhäuser . He also worked at the Thalia Theater with the Estonian directors Tiit Ojasoo and Ene-Liis Semper in Die Stunden, since we knew nothing about each other, by Peter Handke and with the director Antú Romero Nunes . In the 2016/17 season he is a member of the ensemble at the Schauspiel Frankfurt . During his first permanent engagement at the Schauspiel Frankfurt he worked a. a. with Ersan Mondtag and Julie Van den Berghe. Björn Meyer has been a permanent member of the Thalia Theater ensemble since the 2017/18 season . Björn Meyer u. Worked for the theater production Hänsel und Gretel. a. with the musicians Peter Tägegren and Till Lindemann . In the summer of 2019 he will appear in the role of "Fat Cousin" at the Salzburg Festival under the direction of Michael Sturminger in Jedermann .

Björn Meyer can also be seen again and again in film and television productions. In 2016 he was awarded the prize of the German Academy for Television for his performance in Der Tatortreiniger (episode Pfirsich Melba ) .

Björn Meyer appears together with Jasper Diedrichsen as "Tim van Thom & Hans Blank".

Björn Meyer volunteers for the international work of the YMCA / YMCA. He supports aid projects in Sierra Leone that he has visited himself. He lives in Hamburg.
