North at Northwest - The transport is a German television film by Till Franzen from the year 2017. It is the fourth episode of the ARD - Police drama series North at Northwest with Hinnerk Schönemann and Henny Reents in the lead roles.
action
Hauke Jacobs has been well accepted by the local residents since he started as a veterinarian in the Baltic town of Schwanitz. At the moment the residents of the village are preparing for the upcoming "Nordic Ride" and no one suspects that a Swedish quartet of crooks wants to take advantage of the hustle and bustle to rob a value van. The crooks get into an argument in advance and the leader, Ole Mantell, shoots one of his men. The remaining three rent a guest house in Schwanitz and pretend to want to take part in the motorcycle race.
After Mehmet Ösker found the man who had been shot dead in the coastal waters off Schwanitz and it turned out that he was Swede, police officer Lona Vogt became aware of the other Swedish guests in the hotel. She and Hauke Jacobs do not consider it a coincidence that they come from the same town called Ystad. Lona investigates and learns that the deceased had a criminal record for a robbery and was in prison for six years. Therefore, she assumes that the three are up to something. She consults with Hauke Jacobs and asks him to help her in the case. He cleverly sneaks into Mantell's pension room and photographs the cell phone number on Dahlberg's smartphone. The three current calls from the mobile phone are evaluated by a police analyst. The investigators come across someone named Martin Wendt, who they assume is also on his way to Schwanitz. When they research Wendt, they learn that he is accompanying a transport that is supposed to bring valuable diamonds to Petersburg. Therefore Lona and Hauke position themselves at an old gas station, where the transport is supposed to come to refuel. Despite arriving on site almost on time, they are unable to prevent the attack, in which a security guard is killed. Ole Mantell and his two accomplices escape and think they are safe, but Lona manages to catch one of the robbers. Meanwhile, Ole Mantell gets into an argument with his girlfriend and Martin Wendt over the booty and he shoots the two who had allied against him. Mantell is caught on the ferry by Lona Vogt and Hauke Jacobs and is fatally hit by the policewoman in an exchange of fire.
Hauke receives a visit from his police past and learns that the time of his "exile" in Schwanitz is no longer necessary and the leniency program that he has obtained has ended. Nevertheless, he is considering continuing his life as a veterinarian and not leaving the place and the people here.

criticism
Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv said: "After the pan in the right direction in 'Estonia', 'Der Transport' is the provisional cinematic crowning of the Thursday crime series 'Nord bei Nordwest'". “The interplay of Schönemann, Reents and Lohse is becoming more and more subtle , a lot of subtexts liven up the interactions and the 'guest' gangster trio also bring in their own way of communicating. Author Holger Karsten Schmidt is in his element and in director Till Franzen he finds his master: Lacony & understatement , a film that tells with pictures & few words, exciting & human: clever entertainment TV. "
Ulrich Feld wrote at fnp : “The village posse and the crime thriller, that's why they don't really want to grow together this time. Whereby the script certainly laid out the characters in a beautifully multi-faceted way within the gangster gang. On the other hand, such a story would work better as a fast-paced action thriller, and in that respect the film struggles to get going at first. Quiet moments predominate, the relationships between individual characters come to the fore. "
Tilmann P. Gangloff reviewed for evangelische.de and came to the conclusion: “'Der Transport' has various comical moments to offer, but mostly they are comparatively gentle and almost suitable for families.” “In addition, there are many scenes that are not are still important for the crime story, but make up the special charm of the film; this includes the karaoke insert.
