Bjorn Willemse (born December 11, 1983 in Tilburg ) is a Dutch ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Tilburg Trappers again since 2011 . Since 2017 he has been playing with the club's third team in the Eerste divisie .
Career
Clubs
Bjorn Willemse began his career as an ice hockey player with the Tilburg Trappers in his hometown, for which he already played as a 16-year-old in the "Toekomstteam" in the second Dutch league, the Eerste divisie . In the 2001/02 season he made his debut for the Trappers in the Ehrendivision , but was also used in the second team until 2003. With the Trappers he became Dutch champions in 2007 and 2008 and cup winners in 2006 and 2008 . In 2008 he moved to the hockey club Neuilly-sur-Marne in the French Ligue Magnus , but returned to Tilburg after just six games. With the exception of the 2010/11 season, which he spent at Eaters Geleen , he has since played for his home club, with which he again won the cup in 2013, and was able to win the double of championship and cup in the two following seasons. From 2015 to 2017 he played with his team in the German Oberliga Nord , which the team won in 2016 and again in 2017. He then moved to the club's third team in the Eerste divisie .
International
For the Netherlands Willemse took part in the games of the European Division II of the U18 World Cup 2000 and Division III of the U18 World Cup 2001 as well as the U20 World Championships 2001 in Division III and 2002 and 2003 in Division II.
At the World Cup Division I in 2003 he made his debut for the men's national team . Also at the World Championships in 2004 , 2005 , 2006 , 2007 , when he achieved the best plus / minus balance of the tournament, in 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2011 and 2012 , he was on the ice for the Dutch in Division I. He also represented his colors at the qualifying tournaments for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , 2010 in Vancouver and 2014 in Sochi .
Inline skater hockey
In addition to his ice hockey career, Willemse was also active in inline skater hockey . In 2013 and 2014 he played for the Highlander Lüdenscheid in the inline skater hockey Bundesliga .
