Black Light Burns (BLB) is an American rock band initiated by Wes Borland , the guitarist of Limp Bizkit . In addition to Borland, the group initially consisted of Danny Lohner ( Nine Inch Nails ), Josh Eustis ( Telefon Tel Aviv ) and Josh Freese (including The Vandals , A Perfect Circle ) and was considered a supergroup .

Similar to the Nine Inch Nails, there was a studio and a live line-up as the band was a side project for the other members. In the meantime there is only one formation, Lohner, Freese and Eustis are no longer listed as band members.

Band history

After various side projects (Big Dumb Face, Eat the Day, The Damning Well), Wes Borland decided at the end of 2003 to record an instrumental record with his friend Danny Lohner. This project should turn into a real band when Josh Eustis and Josh Freese were joined by other musicians. Borland took singing lessons and began writing lyrics for his previously recorded material. More and more material accumulated and in a short time more and more songs were written and recorded. However, the recordings were repeatedly interrupted by returning to Limp Bizkit. In spring 2005, Borland finally left Limp Bizkit until early 2009 and made Black Light Burns his main project.

After various problems with the former Geffen Records label , a contract was signed with Ross Robinson's newly founded label I AM: Wolfpack in early 2007 . The debut album Cruel Melody was released in June 2007, the first single Lie in March 2007. For the summer of 2008 a festival tour through Europe and a tour in North America have already been announced.

In a (now deleted) blog entry on Black Light Burns' official MySpace page, he announced that everything but Black Light Burns were side projects and that Black Light Burns was his main band. However, this is called into question by a joint statement with Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst , in which the two state that nowhere else have they found such powerful and unique energy as with Limp Bizkit. This is why Limp Bizkit are back.

The new album The Moment You Realize You're Going To Fall entered the Heatseeker charts at number 20.
