Bloodland is a German death metal band from Saxony-Anhalt , which was founded in June 2008 by drummer Chris Ludwig.
history
The founding line-up consisted of Chris Ludwig ( drums ), Peter Bucks ( electric guitar ), Stefan Pilling (electric guitar), Robert Eilenberger ( electric bass ) and Maik Gericke (née Schmidt) ( vocals ).
In February 2010 the first demo Buried Alive was released . This was followed by appearances as a support act for Debauchery , Deserted Fear , Die Apokalyptischen Reiter , Fleshless , Manos , and Master . In 2013 the first EP Apocalyptic Visions was released .
Maik Gericke and Stefan Pilling left the band over the next two and a half years. In 2016 Gericke could be won again as a singer.
In 2017 Bloodland performed with Ektomorf , Illdisposed , Grave , Rotting Christ and Vader at the Metal Frenzy and Chronical Moshers festivals .
In April 2018, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the band, the first album Chronicles of Death was released under the record label Unholy Fire Records from Hanover . In June 2018, Bloodland acted as a support act for Six Feet Under .
style
Stylistically, the band is based on Death Metal of the 1990s and has musical parallels to bands such as Bolt Thrower , Cannibal Corpse , Obituary and Torture Killer . The vocals are characterized by deep growls , which support the lower pitched guitars. The songs contain the usual tempo and beat changes for Death Metal, with a large number of the songs also containing mid-tempo passages.
