Blumenbecker GmbH & Co. KG is a German group of companies that is active in the five corporate areas of automation technology , engineering , industrial trade , industrial service and technology . The operating holding company B + M Blumenbecker GmbH is based in Beckum in North Rhine-Westphalia . The managing directors are Richard Mayer, Harald Golombek and Olaf Lingnau.
The group of companies emerged from an armature winding shop founded by Theodor Blumenbecker in Beckum in 1922 and later taken over by his son , which repaired electric motors and machines and installed light and power systems, an electrical wholesaler opened by his daughter Marianne in Ahlen in 1954, and an engineering office and in 1964 a manufacturing company for switchgear . The sub-companies merged in 1966 to form Blumenbecker KG . In 1982 the company was split into the holding company Blumenbecker KG and the operating company B + M Blumenbecker GmbH . Since restructuring in 2004, the group of companies has been represented in a total of 20 largely independent companies at numerous locations in Germany , Poland , Russia , Slovakia , the Czech Republic , Ukraine , India , the USA and the People's Republic of China .
The group currently employs more than 660 people and achieved total sales of around 199.2 million euros in 2018.

Business areas
- Automation technology: The automation technology division offers the implementation of industrial automation projects for machine and plant construction with advice, project planning, engineering, programming, switchgear construction as well as assembly and commissioning worldwide. In our own factories, control cabinets are manufactured individually and in series according to various national and international standards.
- Engineering: The engineering division specializes in the electrical automation of large one-off projects, including in conveyor, painting and welding technology and in robot applications. The range of services includes the planning of automation solutions, the offline programming of robots, the procurement or construction of the necessary hardware, the PLC programming as well as the worldwide commissioning on site. One focus of the services is robotics in connection with machine vision, the design and construction of specific robot tools and the development of our own software.
- Industrial trade: The industrial trade division sells products for industry and trade, both through its own branches and via the Internet (e-procurement). The range includes hand tools as well as machine tools. Over 25,000 articles are stored in the central warehouse in Beckum.
- Industrial service: The industrial service division specializes in the maintenance, testing, modernization and repair of cranes, electrical machines, industrial robots, gates and loading ramps as well as other industrially used machines and systems. The tests prescribed by law are carried out by our own experts. Training courses on industrial robots are also carried out in a dedicated training center.
- Technology: The Technology division designs, builds and supplies switchgear and control technology, airport ground equipment and equipment for railway works and offers maintenance and service for cranes and hoists.
