Boštjan Lekan (born January 20, 1966 in Domžale ) is a former Yugoslav or Slovenian biathlete .

Athletic career

Boštjan Lekan lives in Domžale started for the SK Termit . The instructor in the Slovenian military began biathlon in 1986. At the beginning of the 1986/87 season he competed in his first race in the Biathlon World Cup and was 86th in an individual and 74th in a sprint. Several times in his career he was able to run into the points. The first international championship was the Biathlon World Championships in 1989 in Feistritz an der Drau , where he was 67th of the individual. At the Biathlon World Championships in 1990 in Minsk, the ranks 70 in the individual, 42 in the sprint and as a starting runner with Aleksander Grajf , Roman Klinc and Jure Velepec came eighth in the relay race and with the same line-up also tenth with the team. The last time for Yugoslavia he entered the Biathlon World Championships in Lahti in 1991 and came in 36th place in the individual. Since the 1991/92 season Lekan started for the newly created state of Slovenia. At the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville , the young state competed with its own biathlon team, which Lekan also belonged to. He was 21st in the individual and 51st in the sprint. In the interim Olympic season, the Slovene came in 1993 in Borowetz to a 36th place in the World Cup sprint. In 1994 the second Olympic participation followed in Lillehammer . Lekan was 59th of the individual and with Jure and Uroš Velepec and Janez Ožbolt tenth in the relay race. In 1995 he was in Antholz 41st of the individual, 23rd of the sprint and with Ožbolt, Tomaž Globočnik and Tomaž Žemva 16th in the relay competition. A 52nd in singles and No. 19 with Jože Poklukar , Ožbolt and Globočnik in relay race at the Biathlon World Championships 1996 from Ruhpolding were after ten years to conclude Lekans career.
