Bo Magnus Andersson (born August 26, 1968 ) is a former Swedish football player . Following his active career, the striker moved to the board of the Stockholm club Djurgårdens IF , where he was active for about ten years.
Career
Player career
Andersson began playing soccer at Rö IK . From 1976 he played in the youth of the club before he joined the fourth division club BK Vargarna in 1988 . From there he moved to Väsby IK after only one year . In the second-rate Division 1 Norra, he distinguished himself as a regular goalscorer and reached eleventh place in the table with the club.
After Andersson had offers from several clubs, AIK coach Sanny Åslund was able to persuade him to switch to the multiple Swedish champions. Together with his teammate Göran Göransson , he moved to the Allsvenskan before the 1990 season . At the beginning of the season he sat on the bench and came on as a substitute. On May 13, 1990, he was in the game against Malmö FF for the first time in the starting line-up and scored the winning goal for a 3-2 win. The rest of the season was mixed for him, as he could not assert himself permanently and kept rotating between the starting line-up and bench. After the team had been promisingly positioned for a long time, they took only one point from the last seven games and finished eighth in the table. With five goals this season Andersson distinguished himself alongside Niclas Kindvall as the club's best internal goalscorer. Nevertheless, he was only a supplementary player under the newly hired coach Tommy Söderberg in the following season. In his 16 games in the course of regular time, he was only three times in the starting line-up, in the six games in the final round in two games. After the end of the season he was with AIK in the cup final, which he lost with the team with a 2: 3 defeat after Golden Goal against IFK Göteborg .
Since he was not one of the regulars under Söderberg, Andersson left AIK and joined local rivals Vasalunds IF in the second division. After two years he moved to Djurgårdens IF within the league . Under coach Anders Grönhagen he was internal top scorer with 24 goals and led the team together with Nebojša Novaković , who scored 19 goals, back to the Allsvenskan. There he scored eleven goals this season in the 1995 season on the side of Klebér Saarenpää , Thor André Olsen , Magnus Pehrsson and Kaj Eskelinen .
Andersson had attracted attention outside of Sweden. After the end of the season in late October, he moved to the Portuguese club Sporting Braga . At the side of his compatriot Jonny Rödlund , José Alberto Mota Barroso and Mladen Karoglan , however, he could not assert himself permanently and returned to Djurgårdens IF. With the club, however, he rose from the Allsvenskan.
As a functionary
In the spring of 1998 Andersson announced his retirement from active football after persistent knee problems, but shortly thereafter moved up to the board of Djurgårdens IF. After persistent injury problems in the team, however, he was briefly activated in June of that year and sat on the bench as a possible substitute in the game against IK Sirius . After the organizational form of the club changed on January 1, 1999, he got the post of club director with responsibility for sponsor relations as well as fan and member work at the club. After the club was relegated to the second division again at the end of the 1999 season , it was able to consolidate in the following year and after the direct rise in the seasons 2002 , 2003 and 2005 win the Swedish championship.
In the course of the 2008 season there were internal quarrels at Djurgårdens IF. After some harsh criticism of his person, he resigned from his office in November 2008.
