Born 2 Rap ( English " born to rap " for " born to rap ") is the ninth and, according to his own statement, last studio album by the US rapper The Game . It was released on November 29, 2019 exclusively for download and streaming via the labels eOne Music and Prolific Records.

The Game itself, Dom Kennedy and Cash Jones served as executive producers on the album . The songs were produced by a variety of music producers , with Wallis Lane and Big Duke having nine songs each for most of them. Other productions include Swizz Beatz , DJ Khalil , Ed Sheeran and Travis Barker .

Cover design

The album cover shows The Game writing his text on a notepad in a red-lit room surrounded by nine pregnant women. In the upper part of the picture there is the red logo of The Game and the white lettering Born2Rap .

Guest Posts

On 18 of the 25 tracks on the album, 20 other artists appear in addition to The Game, with singer Ed Sheeran and rapper Dom Kennedy being the only ones to be involved in two pieces each. Other guests include rappers Nipsey Hussle , Red Café and 21 Savage, as well as singers Miguel , Bryson Tiller , Anderson .Paak , Chris Brown , Trey Songz and Sly. Born 2 Rap entered the US album charts at number 19 on December 14, 2019 and stayed in the top 200 for two weeks. The album also reached the charts in Switzerland and was 66th. In the German charts, however, it could not place.

The first single West Side was released for download on June 21, 2019 . The second release Stainless was released on November 1st, 2019. Both songs could not be placed in the charts.

Franz Mauerer from laut.de rated Born 2 Rap with three out of a possible five points. The style of the album is “relatively sparse, concentrated, with rather dry beats.” Due to the high number of songs, it appears “tough and dry in places” due to the “poor quality of many fillers,” such as Blood Thicker Than Water , gangstas Make The Girls Go Wild and Gucci Flip Flops . On the other hand, the songs Five Hundred Dollar Candles , West Side , Welcome Home and Cross on Jesus Back as well as the guest contributions by Nipsey Hussle and D Smoke are positively highlighted . Ultimately, Born 2 Rap is "a dignified farewell album with too much fat on the meat, similar to an overloaded playlist."
