Boruszowice (German: Boruschowitz ) is a village in Upper Silesia . It is located in the municipality of Tworóg (Tworog) in the Powiat Tarnogórski (Tarnowitz district) in the Silesian Voivodeship .

geography

Boruszowice is six kilometers east of the township seat Tworóg , eleven kilometers northwest of the district town Tarnowskie Góry (Tarnowitz) and 34 kilometers northwest of the voivodeship capital Katowice (Kattowitz).

The Stoła (tunnel water) and the Graniczna Woda (border water) flow through the village .

history

The place was founded in the 18th century, in 1736 it was mentioned in a document as "Boruschowitz". In 1828 there were about 70 inhabitants.

In 1865 Boruschowitz consisted of a domain and a village. The domain consisting of the manor Boruschowitz belonged to Count Hugo Henckel von Donnersmark. The villages of Salzcoctur, Wymislow and Tluczykont also belonged to the municipality. The village had five farms, four gardeners and six cottagers. The Salzcoctur colony had six houses. Boruschowitz also belonged to the parish of Groß Zyglin and was schooled in Piasetzna. In 1893, to the east of the village, the Pniowitz powder factory was built, where 500 people found work. A housing estate was built for the workers. In 1904 a school was opened.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 55 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 226 for Poland. Until 1922 the place was in the district of Tarnowitz . When Upper Silesia was divided in 1922, the place came to Poland. The powder factory was closed in 1924, and a paper factory was set up in the workshops. In 1931 the place had 777 inhabitants. During the German occupation from 1939 to 1945 he was in the district of Beuthen-Tarnowitz .

In 1945 the place came back to Poland and was renamed Boruszowice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Katowice Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Tarnogórski and the new Silesian Voivodeship .
