Bozrah is a town in New London County in the US state of Connecticut . It consists of the center of Fitchville ( ⊙ ) and the hamlets of Gilman ( ⊙ ) and Leffingwell ( ⊙ ).

Geographical location
Bozrah is located on the Yantic River , which, together with the Shetucket River, brings the Thames to Connecticut . Gardner Lake , the largest lake in Bozrah, lies in the southwest of the municipality, on the border with Salem and Montville . The hill country between the Long Island Sound and the Appalachians shapes the landscape of the community. Small and very small lakes interrupt the forest, which otherwise dominates the area, in around 30 places.

Surname
The name comes from the capital of the Edomite Empire, Bozra ( English Bozrah ), which is described several times in the Old Testament . For example, the King James Version says:
“I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah ”
“I will gather the rest of Israel together; I will bring him together like the sheep of Bozra "
Culture and sights
Buildings
There are two structures in Bozrah that have been included in the National Register of Historic Places . It is the Congregational Church, built in 1843, and its parsonage, built in 1872.
Parks
In the Bozrah area there is a nature park, Hopemead State Park on Gardner Lake and two campsites; the Acorn Acres Campground, which is also on Gardner Lake, and the Odetah Camping Resort in the forest on the southern part of Fitchville Ponds .
Sports
The Fields Memorial School maintains the FMS Tigers, a football team who regularly play against other locations in Connecticut. There is also a mini golf course and gymnastics club in Fitchville. Fishing is also popular in Gardner Lake.
Regular events
From July to October there is a Farmer's Market every Friday afternoon in Bozrah .

The largest road in Bozrah is Connecticut State Route 2 . The Connecticut Route 163 connects with Bozrah Montville and the two roads 82 and 608 run through the municipality.

Churches
There is a Baptist church in both Fitchville and Leffingwell . There is also a small Catholic St. John Mission and the Congregational Church in Fitchville . The Revelation Church is located in Bozrah's forest, near Tadma Pond .

Since 1950 the volunteer fire brigade with 35 active members and 10 vehicles has been providing fire protection and general help in the village .
education
Bozrah has a school in Leffingwell and Fields Memorial School in Fitchville that teaches children through eighth grade. There is no secondary school in Bozrah.
