Breunings is a district in the Sinntal community in the Main-Kinzig district in eastern Hesse .

history

Middle Ages and early modern times

In 907 the Fulda Monastery received Breunings from the Echternach Monastery by swapping and the village is mentioned for the first time as a locus (place) Preunings . In the Holy Roman Empire , Breunings initially belonged to the Hanau rulership , later to the Hanau county and then to the Hanau-Münzenberg county . It was part of the Altengronau court . However, the Counts of Hanau did not succeed in fully integrating the Altengronau court into their county in the process of territorialization . Described in 1493 as a desert and part of the Schwarzenfels Office , the village is said to have been repopulated by Ulrich von Hutten shortly before 1510 . He tried to withdraw it from the jurisdiction of the Schwarzenfels Office. The noble von Hutten family were the direct rulers of the village. The village had its own church only since 1549. It was parish after Sterbfritz .

In the first half of the 18th century, many residents moved to Jossa.

Later territorial development

After the death of the last Hanau count, Johann Reinhard III. , the landgraves of Hessen-Kassel inherited the entire county of Hanau-Munzenberg. They proposed Breunings to the Schwarzenfels office . It later belonged to the Electorate of Hesse and, after its administrative reform of 1821, to the district of Schlüchtern . The formerly independent municipality became a district of Sterbfritz on December 1, 1969 on a voluntary basis , which itself became part of the Main-Kinzig district on July 1, 1974 as part of the regional reform in Hesse , lost its independence and, by virtue of state law, became the municipality formed in 1972 Sinntal was incorporated . Local districts with local advisory councils and local councilors were formed for all formerly independent communities .
