The state government Sausgruber I was the 13th Vorarlberg state government , which was in office from 1997 to 1999. It was formed after the former governor, Martin Purtscher, handed over his office to Herbert Sausgruber . The government was elected in its new composition on April 2, 1997 by the Vorarlberg state parliament and then sworn in. On October 5, 1999, the state government was sworn in again as the state government of Sausgruber II .

The government was led by Governor Herbert Sausgruber six ÖVP members and one member of the Freedom Party. Due to the inter-period assumption of office, the original state government of Purtscher III was not significantly changed except for the resignation of the governor. After the post of provincial governor previously occupied by Sausgruber, he was succeeded by Hans-Peter Bischof , and Siegmund Stemer was elected to the Vorarlberg provincial government for the first time as an additional member of the government .
