The Wallner II state government was the Vorarlberg state government under the leadership of Governor Markus Wallner ( ÖVP ) from October 2014 to November 2019. It was the first black-green coalition government in Vorarlberg . The state government was elected in the constituent session of the 30th Vorarlberg state parliament on October 15, 2014.
After the state elections in 2014 , in which the Vorarlberg People's Party, previously ruling alone, suffered heavy losses and the Greens Vorarlberg gained surprisingly strong gains, the People's Party entered into coalition negotiations with the Greens after exploratory talks with all parties. These coalition negotiations were brought to a close very quickly, on October 7, 2014, only 16 days after the election, with the signing of a coalition agreement.
A change in the composition of the state government took place on January 31, 2018, when Barbara Schöbi-Fink was elected by the state parliament as education councilor to succeed Bernadette Mennel, who had resigned for personal reasons . There was another change in government members on April 11, 2018, when Christian Gantner succeeded Erich Schwärzler , the long-term state councilor who had previously left the family due to an illness .
