State government Keßler I

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The state government Keßler I was the Vorarlberg state government that was active from 1964 to 1969 . It was formed following the regional elections in Vorarlberg in 1964 and was the fifth freely elected regional government of Vorarlberg after the Second World War . After 19 years as governor, Ulrich Ilg handed over the management of government affairs to his party colleague Herbert Keßler .

background

As in the previous state government Ilg IV , this government cabinet also consisted of five representatives from the ÖVP and one representative each from the SPÖ and the FPÖ . The state government was elected in the first session of the 30th Vorarlberg state parliament on October 29, 1964. In the previous state election on October 18, 1964, the ÖVP was able to hold the absolute majority of votes and mandates and even gain absolute votes, but for the first time since 1945 it lost both votes (- 1.2%) and a mandate. This benefited the FPÖ, which was able to send 6 members to the newly elected state parliament. Even before the election, the previous governor Ulrich Ilg had announced that he would hand over the position at the head of government and party to his successor, Keßler. He took up a post as councilor in the new government. The term of office of the state government of Keßler I ended in 1969 when the newly elected state government of Keßler II took over .
