The state government of Sausgruber IV was the Vorarlberg state government from 2009 to 2011 under the leadership of Governor Herbert Sausgruber ( ÖVP ). The members of the state government were elected at the constituent meeting of the 29th Vorarlberg state parliament on October 14, 2009. The state government was replaced by the resignation of Governor Sausgruber and the successor of Markus Wallner as governor by the Wallner I state government on December 7, 2011.
After Sausgruber had already rejected a continuation of the existing coalition with the FPÖ during the state election campaign in the run-up to the state elections in 2009 , he formed the first sole ÖVP government in Vorarlberg in the history of the second republic, following fruitless talks with the Greens and the SPÖ . With the fourth state government under Herbert Sausgruber, the ÖVP provided its 16th state government in a row since the regaining of Vorarlberg sovereignty in 1945.
The government team of the state government was taken over by the previous state government Sausgruber III with one exception. In place of the FPÖ regional councilor Dieter Egger , Andrea Kaufmann from Dornbirn was appointed regional councilor. This resulted in some changes in the division of responsibilities compared to the previous government.
