The state government Purtscher II was the 11th Vorarlberg state government in the Second Republic , which was in office from 1989 to 1994. She went from the state elections in Vorarlberg in 1989 produced, in which the Austrian People's Party at the first appearance of Martin Purtscher as the leading candidate could hold the absolute majority of votes and mandate.

The government was led by Governor Martin Purtscher six ÖVP members and one member of the Freedom Party. It was elected on October 24, 1989 by the XXIV Vorarlberg Landtag in its constituent session.

During the legislative period there were some changes in the composition of the state government. First of all, on May 9, 1990, State Governor Siegfried Gasser left the state government to fully dedicate himself to his new office as Mayor of the state capital Bregenz . His successor as state governor was the former state councilor and later state governor Herbert Sausgruber, who in turn inherited the later education minister Elisabeth Gehrer on his state council post. Subsequently, on March 12, 1993, Alfred Mayer resigned from the state government and was replaced by Hans-Peter Bischof . On October 6, 1993 , two members of the state government resigned: the FPÖ regional councilor Hans-Dieter Grabher and the ÖVP regional councilor Anton Türtscher . While the Lustenau mayor Grabher was inherited by his party colleague Hubert Gorbach , Erich Schwärzler from Bregenzerwald replaced the regional councilor for agriculture, Türtscher.
