State government Ilg II
The state government Ilg II was the Vorarlberg state government active from 1949 to 1954 . As the second democratically elected government in the country, it succeeded the state government Ilg I on November 14, 1949 after the state elections and was replaced by the state government Ilg III on October 29, 1954 .
From the state elections in Vorarlberg in 1949 , the Austrian People's Party with its top candidate Ulrich Ilg emerged again as the party with the largest number of seats with an absolute majority. A new party, the electoral party of the Independent (WdU), was able to win 22% of the votes when it ran for the first time in the state elections, making it the second largest parliamentary group in the Vorarlberg state parliament . As a result, the WdU was accepted as the third party in the government, where it initially provided a state council without a portfolio. Government members Ferdinand Ulmer and Adolf Vögel were also appointed as federal councilors (the third Bundesrat from Vorarlberg was Ernst Kolb ).
