Brian Mascord (born January 30, 1959 in Newcastle , New South Wales , Australia ) is an Australian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Wollongong .

Life

Before Brian Mascord entered St. Patrick's Seminary in Manly , he was an elementary school teacher . He received in the October 31, 1992 Sacred Heart Church in Hamilton , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Then was Mascord as assistant priest active in the pastoral care before finally pastor of the parish of St. Mary MacKillop in Charlestown the Director vocations in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle and a member was the Diocesan Committee for the liturgy. Since 2013 Brian Mascord has also been Vicar General of the Maitland-Newcastle Diocese.

On November 30, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Wollongong. The Archbishop of Sydney , Anthony Fisher OP , donated to him on 22 February 2018, the episcopal ordination ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Maitland-Newcastle , William Wright , and the Bishop Emeritus of Wollongong, Peter Ingham .
