Bruce Alan Lewandowski CSsR (born June 8, 1967 in Toledo , Ohio ) is an American religious and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Baltimore .

Life

Bruce Lewandowski attended Saint Alphonsus College in Suffield and Holy Redeemer College in Washington . Lewandowski then joined the Redemptorist Order and made his first profession on September 10, 1988 . From 1988 to 1994 he studied Catholic theology at the Washington Theological Union . Lewandowski received on 7 May 1994 in Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

After ordination, Bruce Lewandowski first worked as parish vicar in the parish of Saint Cecilia in Manhattan , before he became parish vicar of the parish Immaculate Conception in the Bronx in 1996 . From 1998 to 2000 he was a missionary at Seelos House in Vieux Fort on St. Lucia . In 2000 Lewandowski became pastor of the Saint Boniface parish in Philadelphia . From 2006 to 2011, Bruce Lewandowski served as pastor of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary parish in Kensington before becoming Episcopal Vicar for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia . In 2016 Lewandowski became pastor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus parish in Baltimore and since 2019 he has also been a pastoral delegate to the Hispanics in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

On 10 June 2020 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Croae and auxiliary bishop in Baltimore. The Archbishop of Baltimore, William Edward Lori , donated him episcopal ordination on August 18 of the same year in the Cathedral of Mary Queen in Baltimore ; Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishop in Baltimore, Adam John Parker , and the auxiliary bishop in Philadelphia, John Joseph McIntyre .
