Bruchhausen is a district of the city of Waldbröl in the Oberbergischer Kreis in southern North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ) within the administrative district of Cologne .

Location and description

The place is about 4.7 km east of the city center and lies in the border area with Rhineland-Palatinate .

First mention

In 1447 the place was mentioned for the first time as Broichhusen in an "invoice from Homburg rentmaster Johann van Flamersfelt ."

The main hiking trail X65 from the Sauerland Mountain Association leads through Bruchhausen from Morsbach to Schneppe .

Attractions

Bruchhauser Mühle: It is a former oil and grain mill and was first mentioned in 1571 . It is the last "Oberbergische" mill that still grinds, but today it is electrically powered. The old grinder is still in good condition and the entire mill inventory is still there. Therefore, the mill offers a clear insight into the history of technology on three floors.
