Bryan William Marchment (born May 1, 1969 in Scarborough , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player and current scout , who played 1009 games for the Winnipeg Jets , Chicago Blackhawks , Hartford Whalers , Edmonton between 1985 and 2006 Oilers , Tampa Bay Lightning , San Jose Sharks , Colorado Avalanche , Toronto Maple Leafs and Calgary Flames in the National Hockey League on the position of defender . Since 2007 he has worked as a scout for the San Jose Sharks in the NHL.

Career

Marchment first played four years from 1985 to 1989 with the Belleville Bulls in the Ontario Hockey League . During this time he was selected in the first round in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft in 16th place by the Winnipeg Jets .

The Jets brought the defender to the NHL in his last OHL season in 1988/89 and used him twice. The seasons 1989/90 and 1990/91 he spent both in the NHL team and in the AHL - farm team of the Jets, the Moncton Hawks . In the summer of 1991 Marchment was then part of a transfer business, which he had to switch to the Chicago Blackhawks . There the Canadian made the first step into the regular squad of an NHL club and stayed until November 1993 before he had to change again. With Steve Larmer the Blackhawks transferred him for Eric Weinrich and Patrick Poulin to the Hartford Whalers , where he only played ten months.

As a result, Marchment moved to the Edmonton Oilers , who gave him over to Tampa Bay during the 1997/98 season . After only three months and 22 games with the Lightning, they gave him to the San Jose Sharks , where he had the most successful time of his career. In total, Marchment played six seasons in San Jose and achieved a career record with 22 points in the 2001/02 season . Due to a weak season of the Sharks in the 2002/03 season and the associated rebuilding of the team, they gave him during the season for the Colorado Avalanche . After the 2003-04 season for a year to the Toronto Maple Leafs was changed, he stopped in the lockout - 2004/05 season his career. For the 2005/06 season he signed another one-year contract, this time with the Calgary Flames .

After the 2005/06 season his contract in Calgary ran out, whereupon he was no longer committed by any team and ended his career. In August 2007 he was hired as a scout by his ex-team San Jose Sharks .
