Brzeście (German Hohenzollerndorf ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship and belongs to the rural community of Sławno ( Schlawe ) in the Powiat Sławieński .

Brzeście is located southeast of the district town Sławno and can be reached after eight kilometers via the voivodship road 205 towards Bobolice ( Bublitz ) in the Pomiłowo ( Marienthal ) junction . The railway station was until 1945 Suckow (Żukowo) on the Reichsbahn line Schivelbein (Świdwin) - Zollbrück (Korzybie).

In 1931, a settlement was created on the site of the Hohenzollern estate Suckow , which was named Hohenzollerndorf . The center of the place is laid out as an oval round shape around a festival and event space, where foothills connect to the roads to Suckow and Jannewitz . The valley southwest of the town center towards Jannewitz was one of them. In 1939 there were 21 farms over 10 hectares and 89 farms under 10 hectares as well as other households with smaller areas.

Before 1945, Hohenzollerndorf belonged to the municipality of Suckow and was therefore in the district of Suckow, which also included the municipalities of Jannewitz, Lantow (Łętowo) and Quäsdow (Gwiazdowo). The registry office was also located in Suckow , while the district court was in Schlawe. The office Suckow was in the district of Schlawe i. Pom. in the administrative district of Köslin in the Prussian province of Pomerania .

Today Brzeście forms a district of Gmina Sławno in the powiat Sławieński of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship (until 1998 Slupsk Voivodeship ). Ecclesiastically, Hohenzollerndorf was also oriented towards Suckow, whose Protestant parish belonged to the Schlawe church district of the church province of Pomerania in the church of the Old Prussian Union .

Today Brzeście is part of the Roman Catholic parish Żukowo in the deanery Sławno in the diocese of Koszalin-Kołobrzeg of the Catholic Church in Poland . The (few) Protestant residents are looked after by the parish office in Koszalin ( Köslin ) in the diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

In terms of school, Hohenzollerndorf was also oriented towards Suckow until 1945.
